Problem
Provide a smooth, high performance finish to a custom spiral steel staircase, on-site, with little disruption to the construction process.
Solution
Our electrostatic spray process and experienced technicians provided a superior on-site spray finish, with controlled over-spray, reduced air-borne particulate, VOC's and HAP's. Our professional services were specifically solicited by the owner of the custom metal fabricator.
Results
A smooth, luxurious and durable finish was achieved with the following properties:
- Corrosion Resistant - Tristar Coatings' Starpoxy 480 high-performance, high-build epoxy primer will inhibit corrosion of the steel and provide excellent mechanical bond for the finish coating.
- Chemical resistant - Sherwin Williams' Tile Clad HS Polyamide Epoxy coating resists road salt, alkaline cleaners, and acidic product spills.
- Abrasion resistant - A two-component, catalyzed polyamide epoxy coating is superior to any single component non-catalyzed, paint for high traffic areas.
- Superior finish - Our electrostatic spray process provides an outstanding finish without orange peel texture, pin holes or brush marks.
- Low maintenance - The coating system is low maintenance - occasional soap and water cleaning is all that is required.
- Low environmental impact - Our efficient electrostatic spray process uses less physical paint material and puts less atomized spray mist into the air resulting in lower VOC's (volatile organic compounds) and HAP's (hazardous air pollutants).
